Walking Dead - BBQ Brain Spaghetti

Halloween is just around the corner, along with another season of The Walking Dead.  Yes the show is  GREAT but if you are anything like me, you love the comics even more.

I wont get into details on how I wish they stuck closer to the graphic novel -- point is, this brain like recipe will get you even more in the mood for some "walkers".

The Goods:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon garlic salt
  • 3 1/2 cups BBQ sauce of choice
  • 1 to 2 pounds cooked pork
  • 1 pound spaghetti

Tutorial:

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.

Saute the pepper and onion until softened, 1 to 2 minutes.

Stir in the garlic salt.

Add the BBQ sauce and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to a low simmer and add the chopped meat.

Meanwhile, fill a large pot with water and bring to boil.
Season liberally with salt and add spaghetti.
Cook until al dente (firm but not hard), about 7 minutes, and drain.
Toss spaghetti with sauce.

Enjoy getting dirty like a zombie! MMMmmMm!

Mario's Meatballs and Spaghetti

I know, How cliche - Mario Spaghetti and Meatballs? But hey, its much easier than lasagna and tastier too in my opinion! This is super easy because the meatballs are baked in the oven, so they are juicy and they melt in your mouth!

"Its-a meee Mario!"

Level: Noob
Time: 30 minutes
Serves: 4 or more

The Goods:

One package Spaghetti noodles

For Meatballs:
1/2 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 teaspoon garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper

For sauce:
1 onion diced
5 mushrooms, diced
2 garlic loves minced
a little olive oil
2 tins chopped tomatoes
1 teaspoon sugar

Tutorial:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.

In a bowl combine ground beef, pork, garlic salt and pepper.

Form into meatballs. You can make several small ones or medium sized.

Place meatballs in casserole or baking pan and cook in the oven for about 10 minutes.

Boil pot of water and cook spaghetti per cook-time on packaging.

To make sauce:

Fry the onion & garlic in a little oil until softened (about 5 minutes).

Add the mushrooms and fry for another few minutes.

Add the tomatoes & sugar, and let simmer for 5 minutes.

Pour overthe meatballs & return to the oven for 15 minutes.

Serve on top of cooked spaghetti and top with fresh parmesan cheese!

Enjoy and SAVE THE PRINCESS... YET AGAIN!
